Elvis pal Jerry Schilling brokered peace between Priscilla and Riley (2023)

Elvis Presley's dear friend and mentor Jerry Schilling played a 'key' role in brokering the settlement between Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough in their bitter feud over Lisa Marie's multimillion-dollar estate, DailyMail.com has learned.

The King of Rock and Roll's ex-wife and her granddaughter finally reached an agreement over the late singer's trust on Tuesday - four months after she suffered a fatal cardiac arrest.

But according to a Las Vegas source close to the family, it was largely thanks to talent manager Jerry Schilling, 81 - who officiated Keough's wedding in 2015, spoke at Lisa Marie's memorial and stayed with Priscilla and Elvis at Graceland during her pregnancy - after he helped ease tensions behind the scenes.

'Schilling is the ultimate peacemaker, the source told DailyMail.com. He has been a 'rock' and 'key part' of the Presley family for nearly 70 years, was a godfather to Lisa Marie and is referred to by Keough as "Uncle Jerry",' the source told DailyMail.com.

Riley, 33, was reportedly furious when her grandmother went to court to protest her mom's will after it was revealed she had removed her as a trustee

Sources tell DailyMail.com, Schilling, who was a member of Elvis's 'Memphis Mafia' and remains a lifelong close friend to the Presley family, worked to ease tensions between the pair and helped them reach an agreement. 'Jerry holds a really unique status in that family,' the Vegas source said. 'He was the one who kept the conversations going between the two women while the lawyers were doing their thing.

'Jerry was the one listening to both women and pushing for reconciliation away from court. And clearly his efforts worked.'

After Lisa Marie's sudden death in January, a legal war was waged between her mother Priscilla, 77, and oldest daughter, Riley, 33, star of the Amazon Prime hit show Daisy and the Six.

The conflict arose over a 2016 amendment Lisa Marie made to her living trust, ousting her former business manager and Priscilla as trustees and instead giving control to Keough and Benjamin, Lisa Marie's son who died in 2020 age 27.

Just days after Lisa Marie's memorial, Priscilla's lawyers filed a petition questioning the 'authenticity and validity' of the amendment, sparking the courtroom battle.

But lawyers for Elvis's ex and Keough announced Tuesday at a Los Angeles probate court that the two had 'reached a settlement.'

The insider told DailyMail.com that Elvis's long-term pal Schilling has been 'doing his best to ease the family through their fall-out after Lisa Marie's passing.'

'Jerry was always adamant that things could be worked out rather than exploding into a big legal war,' the insider told DailyMail.com. 'He has maintained dialogue and cordial conversation between the ladies and other family members.

'He was pivotal in the family working now to make a long-term peace. He likes to stay in the background on these matters, but cares deeply for Riley and Priscilla.

The longtime family friend supported Lisa Marie and Priscilla when they decided to support Baz Luhrmann's 2022 Oscar-nominated movie about the music legend.

Schilling (pictured in 1981) became a trusted confidante and was part of Elvis's inner entourage, known as The Memphis Mafia, even acting as a stunt double in his movies

'He has been a rock to all of them at many times and navigated them through the good and bad times.'

The talent manager, who repped acts like Jerry Lee Lewis and The Beach Boys, first became friends with Elvis playing football in Memphis in 1954.

He was an energetic 12-year-old while the King of Rock and Roll was seven years his senior, but their close friendship lasted until the star's death in 1977.

Schilling became a trusted confidante and was part of Elvis's inner entourage, known as The Memphis Mafia, even acting as a stunt double in his movies.

He became close with Priscilla during her six-year marriage to Elvis and has remained a friend to her since.

Elvis even asked Schilling to stay with the pair at Graceland before Priscilla gave birth to Lisa Marie in early 1968.

In 2006 he wrote a book about his bond with the King called Me and a Guy Named Elvis, which gave an insight into the highs and lows of his rock and roll legend friend.

In 2015 Schilling officiated Riley's wedding to Australian stuntman Ben Smith-Petersen at the Calistoga Ranch in California's Napa Valley.

He supported Lisa Marie and Priscilla when they decided to support Baz Luhrmann's 2022 Oscar-nominated movie about the music legend.

His status as a key family friend was also shown when he spoke at Lisa Marie's memorial in Memphis on January 22, 2023.

Schilling hired Lisa Marie as a secretary before becoming her manager for her pop career.

In his speech he reflected on his bond with the late singer, who he nicknamed 'Memphis', telling the story of how Elvis asked him to stay for the birth of his daughter.

The source close to Schilling said he saw it as his duty 'to support his late friend Elvis' wishes'.

'Elvis would have been devastated at suggestions of his wife and grandchild being in court on opposite sides,' the insider said.

'Jerry has always seen himself as a protector of Elvis' wishes and Graceland too.'

Priscilla insisted the talk of a feud was 'B.S.' last week.

'Priscilla is happy,' her attorney Ronson Shamoun said. 'The families are happy and unified and together and excited for the future.'

Asked if Riley too was happy with the settlement, her attorney Justin Gold told DailyMail.com, 'She would not have agreed to the settlement if she was not happy with it.'

It's unlikely that the terms of their settlement will become known to outsiders.

After announcing to LA Superior Court Judge Lynn Scaduto that there was an agreement between the two, Gold added that he planned to file a motion to seal the details of the settlement to keep them from the public eye.

The lawyers also declared in court Tuesday that the women had reached a settlement on a second trust involving Lisa Marie's insurance policies – thought to total $35million.

Judge Scaduto scheduled a hearing August 4 for the court to give official approval of both settlements.

Priscilla released a statement saying her family is 'stronger than ever' after the settlement.

In the days after Lisa Marie's death, reports claimed Priscilla was no longer speaking with granddaughter Riley Keough (right) amid an ongoing dispute over her will

'My family has resolved all confusion as it relates to our plea to the court and request for document interpretation after my daughter Lisa Marie's untimely passing,' the statement said.

'Although some media identified such a plea as a lawsuit, I want to make clear that there was never any lawsuit filed against my beloved granddaughter. As a family, we are pleased that we resolved this together.

'My family and I hope that everyone will grant us the privacy we have needed to properly grieve Lisa Marie and spend personal time together. We love and appreciate all of you and the Presley family is stronger than ever.'

Riley always supported her mother during her drawn out, bitterly contested divorce and child custody disputes with her fourth husband, musician Michael Lockwood, 61.

Lockwood is father of Lisa Marie's 14-year-old twin daughters, Finley and Harper.

Priscilla and Lisa Marie were reportedly 'barely speaking' just before the latter's death after Priscilla sided with Lockwood over custody of the twins.
